Introduction to the Bachelor of Laws Degree Programme LL.B.

Law impacts on all aspects of life today and a law degree such as the LL.B. (Honours) provides an excellent basis and training for careers in a wide variety of areas including administration, business, the media, social work, etc. The LL.B. contains all the subjects needed for entrance examinations to the legal professions (solicitors and barristers), subject to prevailing entry rules in various countries. By choosing certain subjects students can become eligible for exemptions in relation to entry to the legal profession in England and Wales. The LLB is also excellent preparation for work in a legal advisory capacity in the private or public sector.

This programme is structured so as to facilitate those with work responsibilities and may be taken over four years. Applications are particularly welcomed from graduates/ professionals of several years standing.

Our qualifying LL.B. (Hons) law degree is designed to give students an excellent foundation in all of the key areas of law. This degree programme provides you with a grounding in law whilst at the same time allowing you develop your own areas of special interest.

Our LL.B. is registered and approved by The Bahamas Ministry of Education. Studying law is stimulating in its own right but it’s also a smart career move. For instance, roles in finance, human resources, local government or general management all benefit from a legal background, whether in corporate business, local and central government or the voluntary sector.

On successful completion of this Bachelor of Laws Programme you will have a legal awareness that allows you to understand and apply the law, together with skills of legal analysis and methods.

The LLB Degree programme contains some comparison of English law with the law of other UK and EU countries. It also includes references from Bahamian law.
