The starting salary for finance PhD graduates’ often ranges from $180K to $210K, depending on placement, which is largely determined by performance in the doctoral program. Moreover, the job market for finance PhDs has been strong, and in recent years more positions have been available than candidates pursuing jobs. It is not surprising that the position of a university professor is frequently ranked as one of the most desirable jobs in the world.

Flexible programs
Michael University’s PhD program is convenient for working professionals with busy schedules. The PhD program requires 60 post-master’s credits, including six credits of dissertation and six credits of independent study. Taking 12 credits a year, students can complete coursework in four years followed by the dissertation development.
Please note, Michael University’s PhD program does not require a residency. Instead, students are required to complete two semesters of Independent Study under the direction of a university advisor.
Transfer Credits
Academic credits, graduate or undergraduate, may be accepted in direct transfer from colleges and universities
depending upon their quality, comparability, and applicability to the student's program of study. Up to 12 Master's
level course credits may be applied upon acceptance of students into the program and based on the discretion of the
department chairperson. The Office of the Registrar will work with faculty within the specific discipline to assess
the appropriateness of course content vis-a-vis the Michael University curriculum.
At least two-thirds of the degree requirements must be met at Michael University. Departments or individual programs
may require more hours taken at Michael University and may limit transfer credits to fewer than this limit. Specific
credits and numbers of credits accepted for transfer must be approved in writing by the department chairperson in the
degree program or graduate certification program to which a student has been fully admitted.
All credits transferred must be equivalent to a "B" grade or better.
Ordinarily, acceptable transfer credits must have been earned within the five previous calendar years from the date
of regular admission.

The tuition and fees are for the 2018-2019 academic year effective as of Fall Term 2018 (September 2018). Tuition and
fees are subject to annual revision, announced each Summer Term for the Fall Term. Further details about tuition may
