Michael University’s Master Degree in Management Information Systems (MIS) is designed to prepare candidates for career advancement and offers graduate students with an opportunity to specialize in the field of IT. The MIS program concentrations are designed to prepare students for challenging careers involving the design, analysis, implementation and operation of computer-based information systems. MIS involves the use of computers in organizations and the integration of computer skills with the functional areas of management.

In today’s economy, managing information is critical to the success of a business. Supply-chain management, mass customization, business intelligence and data mining are all key drivers of a successful business, and all require the effective management of large volumes of information using technology systems. Taught by research faculty, the program is designed to train project managers, technology leaders and future CIOs.
With a degree in MIS, you’ll be able to direct companies on how to design, implement and manage systems in ways that have a direct impact on strategy and operational decisions.

2) Attendance: Students are expected to participate in weekly class discussion/activities. Participation is noted and points are assigned. Therefore, “online” attendance at class is imperative. However, if “life” should happen that prevents your attendance at a class, please extend the courtesy of a call or email before the class meeting. (Leave a message on the voice mail if necessary.) Unexcused absence(s) may affect your final grade.
3) Withdrawal: All withdrawals must be processed through the Registrar’s Office.
4) Late assignments: Assignments are due on the day listed in the syllabus. Assignments submitted late may be penalized.
5) Academic Honesty: Plagiarism will not be tolerated in any writing assignment or oral presentation required for the course. Any student who violates this policy will receive a grade of F as defined in the college catalog.
6) Instructional Methods: Student will assume an active role in the conduct of the classes as discussion leaders, presenters and collaborative research partners.
All out-of-class written assignments must be typed, double-spaced, with one-inch margins, and must follow the guidelines of the APA manual 7th edition.
1) Readings: In order to respond intelligently you will need to read supporting articles and several books. You will be judged in class on your ability to participate in discussions and respond to various questions related to the topics for the class.
2) Multiple Choice Test: Students will complete a mid-term & final multiple-choice examination.
